Winter check list to avoid car breakdowns.

If you have frozen car locks use warm water or de-icer, do not use hot water.

Leave wiper blades away from the car glass overnight. If frozen to the glass do not try to start them as you could blow a fuse. Use warm water to melt the ice. NOT HOT WATER.

If your washer fluid pipe is frozen do not press to release as this can again blow fuses in your car. Use warm water to clean the glass and if travelling take warm water in a bottle. The washer fluid pipe can remain frozen for some time even when travelling long distances.

Keep your braking distance large between cars. When moving from a parked position apply accelator slowly but change gears as soon as possible to avoid revs.

Keep safe.....

The AA hoped that the fuel increases will be halted to assist the economic recovery. The plans by the Government are to introduce a 2.5% VAT increase early in 2011.
