Lots of pet owners that had taken out pet insurance and paid a premium to get their animals covered for a lifetime so that pre-existing medical conditions would be covered have been left in the lurch after Petguard changed their underwriter. Now these clients have to take out new insurance and even though they paid extra sometimes for many years, the new policy will not cover their cats and dogs for pre-existing conditions or if they do at a much higher premium than before.
Clients were given 3 weeks notice and the new replacement policy does not include pre-exiting conditions or injurites for their cats and dogs.
